MangaWire processes as little data as possible. This page describes what we collect, why, for how long, and how to exercise your rights, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable French law.

What we collect

Server logs. Like any site, the hosting provider records on each visit the IP address, the page requested, the date and time, the browser and the operating system used. These logs serve security and technical diagnosis. The hosting provider keeps them for at most twelve months, the maximum retention period for connection data, and then deletes them.

Cloudflare. The site is served through Cloudflare’s network, which processes the IP address to deliver the page and block attacks. Cloudflare is established in the United States; the transfer is covered by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

Messages received. When you write to us, we keep your message and your email address for as long as it takes to handle your request, and at most one year after the last exchange, for follow-up.

What we do not do

  • No user accounts, no sign-up.
  • No advertising cookies, no third-party trackers.
  • No third-party audience measurement tool to date.
  • No sale or transfer of data to third parties.

Logs and site protection rest on our legitimate interest (security, proper operation). The processing of messages rests on your request.

Your rights

You can request access to your data, its rectification or erasure, object to a processing or ask for its restriction, and request its portability. Write to contact@themangawire.com; we reply within one month. You can also lodge a complaint with the French supervisory authority, the CNIL (cnil.fr), or with the authority of your own country.

FAQ: all your questions answered

Who writes for MangaWire?

Every article is signed and links to its author's page. The newsroom is introduced on the authors page, with each person's role and articles. No article is published without a byline.

Where does your information come from?

From a primary source whenever possible: a publisher's press release, an official site or account, a serialization magazine. Failing that, from an identified outlet that we name in the text. Sources are listed at the bottom of every article, with a direct link.

Why does the site exist in three languages?

Manga sells in three large markets outside Japan: France, Spain and Spanish-speaking America, and the English-speaking world. An announcement made in Tokyo concerns all three at once, but the information travels at very different speeds. Every article is published the same day in all three languages, with the same sources.

Do you relay scans or chapter leaks?

Never. No link, no reproduction, no summary of plot elements taken from them. We wait for the official publication. It is a rule of our editorial policy, without exception.

What do you do when you get something wrong?

The correction is made in the body of the article, a dated note is added at the end, the update date changes, and all three language versions are corrected together. We never delete an article to make an error disappear.
