No outlet gets everything right. What matters is what happens next. This is the rule MangaWire applies to every error.

What we correct

Any error of fact: a date, a figure, a name, an attribution, a piece of information that turns out to be false or incomplete. Typos are fixed without a note, as long as they do not change the meaning.

How we correct

  1. The correction is made in the body of the article. The wrong text is replaced, not left in place with a note underneath.
  2. A dated note is added at the end of the article, in a “Corrections” section, saying what was changed and when.
  3. The article’s update date is changed. It appears under the headline and in the data sent to search engines.
  4. All three language versions are corrected at the same time.

When the error concerns the main information of the article (the fact announced in the headline), the correction note is also placed at the top of the article, before the text.

What we do not do

We do not delete an article to make an error disappear. We do not edit an article quietly. An article is withdrawn only for a legal reason, and it is then replaced by a note explaining the withdrawal.

Rumors

When an article published as a rumor is confirmed or denied, it is updated following the same procedure: the body is completed, a dated note says so at the end, and the “Rumor” box is removed or replaced by the denial.

Report an error

Write to contact@themangawire.com with “Correction” in the subject line, the link to the article and, if possible, the source supporting your report. We review every report within 48 hours and we reply, whether or not a correction is made.

FAQ: all your questions answered

Who writes for MangaWire?

Every article is signed and links to its author's page. The newsroom is introduced on the authors page, with each person's role and articles. No article is published without a byline.

Where does your information come from?

From a primary source whenever possible: a publisher's press release, an official site or account, a serialization magazine. Failing that, from an identified outlet that we name in the text. Sources are listed at the bottom of every article, with a direct link.

Why does the site exist in three languages?

Manga sells in three large markets outside Japan: France, Spain and Spanish-speaking America, and the English-speaking world. An announcement made in Tokyo concerns all three at once, but the information travels at very different speeds. Every article is published the same day in all three languages, with the same sources.

Do you relay scans or chapter leaks?

Never. No link, no reproduction, no summary of plot elements taken from them. We wait for the official publication. It is a rule of our editorial policy, without exception.

What do you do when you get something wrong?

The correction is made in the body of the article, a dated note is added at the end, the update date changes, and all three language versions are corrected together. We never delete an article to make an error disappear.
